What does Pooly cost without a subscription?
The Free plan has no subscription and no ads: groups, the shared pot, expenses, invites and a contactless card up to €500 per payment. Each top-up (€10 minimum) carries a single fee, the processing fee: the whole-euro part of Stripe’s cost for the payment method, plus €0.99 (for example €3.99 for €200 by card), shown before you confirm. With “Adjust the charge”, the pot receives exactly the amount entered. Closing a group costs €1 per group or €1 per current member, never more than the remaining balance.
Premium or Pooly MAX?
Premium, €3.99/month or €39/year per group: online purchases, cash withdrawals, up to €2,000 per payment and no processing fee on the first €300 paid into the group each month (normal fee above that). Pooly MAX, €9.99/month or €99/year per group: all of Premium, plus SEPA direct debit with no fee and no limit, no fee on the first €600 paid into the group each month by card or transfer, no closing fee and up to €5,000 per payment. The accounting CSV export is free for everyone. One subscription, paid when you subscribe, covers the whole group.
Can I cancel or change plan?
Yes, from the Premium screen in the app: the subscription belongs to the member who pays for it, and only they can cancel it or change plan. The monthly plan can be cancelled at any time, taking effect at the end of the current month; the annual plan, before its renewal date (an email reminds you 1 to 3 months before). If the payer leaves the group or is removed, the subscription stops at the end of the current period. Switching to MAX charges the pro-rata difference for the current period right away, and MAX is granted once it is paid (by SEPA direct debit, when the funds arrive, and not in the 14 days before the renewal); going back to Premium happens at the next renewal, with no proration. A period that has started is not refunded, not even pro rata, except where the law requires it: withdrawal within 14 days, or termination by Pooly without any fault on your part (pro-rata refund).
Who pays when the card is used?
Card payments are taken from the group’s shared pot, within its balance and the limits set by the admin.
Is travel insurance included?
Stripe Issuing cards are commercial cards: no baggage or travel insurance included.
Are there any limits?
Top-ups: €10 minimum, up to €2,000 per top-up (amount charged, fees included) and €3,000 per person per 24 hours. Card: up to €500 per payment on the Free plan, €2,000 with Premium and €5,000 with Pooly MAX, within the pot’s balance and the limit set by the admin. Groups: 50 members at most, 30 open groups created per account and 10 new groups per 24 hours. Money in a pot cannot be transferred to another pot: it is used for the group’s spending and goes back to the members when the group closes.
How does closing a group work?
In democracy mode, the organizer proposes closing and the members vote: the decision is taken by a majority of the votes cast, no later than 7 days after the proposal, and the group closes 24 hours after the result. In admin mode, the organizer or an admin decides. Everyone then gets their share back, in proportion to what they paid in: refunded to the payment method used, or paid by bank transfer by the Pooly team when that is not possible. Closing fee: €1 per group or per current member, never more than the balance (none when the pot is at €0, none with Pooly MAX).
